I'd Like to Glow Just a Little Longer

It’s almost that time of the year again, where people go nuts trying to get the perfect gift for everyone on their gift list. I decided I’d start a bit early this year with my Christmas shopping so I could make sure I got everything I wanted for my friends and family. I recently ordered a bunch of gifts from this sex shop I trust. Two of the products I decided to get a friend had a promotion going on: buy three body products from the manufacturer Not Soap Radio and get 20% off of them. I decided I’d pick out a third product for myself. I settled on the Just Glow dry oil perfume in the fragrance On Holiday in Tuscany.  The oil is also available in: Island Hopping, Walking the Red Carpet, Lounging Poolside at the Beachfront, and Meditating in a Zen Garden.
Unlike the vast majority of my bath and body orders, not one bath and body product in this order arrived wrapped in plastic. Naturally, one bottle had leaked on a few things in the package. Just Glow comes with a plastic cap on it, though, so it did not leak at all.
Just Glow is packaged in a clear plastic bottle with a black spritz top. The bottle contains 4.1 ounces of oil. It measures about 6 ½ inches tall, which makes it not much larger than most travel sized bottles. It has a sticker label wrapped around the middle. This label is pretty cute with little designs of houses, trees, and grapes on it. The front states the name of the fragrance and has Not Soap Radio’s logo on it. One side has a description of Tuscany that I think is supposed to help you decide if this is the right fragrance for you. All of the fragrances are intended to put you in another place. This one is supposed to make you feel like you’re in Tuscany, which is a region in Italy. The direction for application is to spritz it onto skin. Nothing is said about whether or not the oil needs to be rubbed in or just left to dry.
Cyclomethicone, Jojoba Oil (Colorless), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Fragrance.
The ingredient list for Just Glow is very basic. Cyclomethicone is a silicone base. It dries quicker than other silicone bases. It allows Just Glow to be spritzed on and quickly dry on skin. Jojoba oil is a natural oil often used in massage oil products and lotions. It moisturizes skin and gives it a healthy glow without clogging pores. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is derived from a mixture of coconut oil and glycerin. It quickly penetrates skin to condition it. It’s also non-greasy. I don’t suggest using this product near your genitals if you are sensitive to glycerin. It should be fine for use on the rest of your body.
Inside the bottle, Just Glow is clear. It does not have any glitter or shimmer to it. When applied, it does not add any color to skin. It does make skin look quite a bit shinier so it has a nice, healthy looking glow to it. It feels slippery and smooth like oil, just not as greasy as plain oils. It feels slicker like silicone lubricants tend to feel. It also is pretty runny. When sprayed on skin, it will drip down unless it is rubbed in a bit.
It’s hard to describe the fragrance of this oil. The bottle doesn’t offer much to tell you what it smells like. It does say something about the fragrance of cypress, which I do smell in the oil. It also kind of smells like olives and wine to me. As stinky as that probably sounds, it actually smells really good. The fragrance is very light and just smells kind of exotic. I have to put my nose right up to the oil to smell it. On my skin, it’s also very light.
There are really only a couple of uses for Just Glow. It’s great to spritz onto skin to add some glow to it. You can also use it as a massage oil if you’d like. I would not recommend using it as a lubricant due to the fact that oil breaks down the latex in condoms. Some people may also be sensitive to glycerin or fragrances around their genitals.
I apply the oil right after I’ve gotten out of the shower and dried off, which lately has been before I go to sleep. I spritz a little on most of my body. I avoid using it on my face, which doesn’t need the added moisture. The packaging doesn’t indicate if this is supposed to simply be sprayed on and allowed to absorb or not. I rub it into my skin. One spritz lets out enough oil to cover one arm, so I just spray one area and rub it in as much as I can. The fact that it is so runny makes me rub it in, too.
When I wake up, I can’t ever smell the oil anymore. The oil is also completely absorbed into my skin. I usually sleep for between 4 and 8 hours. I would have liked the fragrance to last just a little bit longer. I like that it’s very light so it doesn’t mix with the fragrance of my perfume or lotion.
If you happen to decide you don’t want Just Glow on your skin anymore, it can be washed off with soap and warm water. It’s more difficult to clean off than most other perfumes and moisturizers, due to the fact that it is made out of silicone and oil. Both silicone and oil are water resistant, so it may take a bit of scrubbing.
I did not have any issue with Just Glow staining my sheets or leaving oil spots on them. There is also no fragrance on them from it. If you do happen to get some on bedding, you’ll want to pre-treat the spot with some Dawn dish soap before washing. Dawn dish soap tends to help remove oil spots from fabric when washed.
A major con I have with Just Glow is the price compared to the amount of oil you receive. It’s sold for $14.99 on EdenFantasys. Just Glow is honestly not much different from regular massage oil. Massage oil can be lightly applied to skin to add a glow to it. Some of them smell really good, too. I have a few bottles I’ve purchased for half the price of Just Glow that offer the same amount of oil. Some cost a few dollars less but you get twice as much oil. If you enjoy making your own body products, you can even buy a big bottle of an oil base and add your own essential oils to fragrance it.
Just Glow would make a pretty good gift. EdenFantasys offers other products in this line that you can match together to make a small gift basket. Unfortunately, Just Glow is the only product that is offered with the fragrance On Holiday in Tuscany. The bottle is cute, though, and doesn’t indicate it comes from a sex toy store. It looks like something you’d find at Bath and Body Works.
Overall, I do like Just Glow. It works well to give my skin a healthy glow. I like the fragrance and the fact that it’s not too heavy. I don’t care for the price tag on Just Glow or the fact that the fragrance doesn’t last on my skin for too long.
I give it 3 out of 5 stars.
