Unbearably Itchy!

After trying out a different pair of fishnets with an attached panty, I decided I’d give this pair of diamond net pantyhose with a cheeky boy short top a try. I’ve never tried diamond net pantyhose before and I was also curious if I’d like the larger netting.

The pantyhose come packaged in a paperboard sleeve depicting a model wearing the pantyhose. On the back, material content is listed as 80% nylon and 20% spandex. These are one size fits most. According to DreamGirl, they should fit if you are between 90 and 160 pounds. Care instructions are: Hand wash in cold water, do not bleach, and line dry.

Pulling these out of the package, they don’t look like much. They look like some sort of panty-like shape with some thin tubes of netting hanging down. Fortunately, they stretch quite a bit. I’m actually able to hold one end of these in one hand and stretch the toe of the stockings out as far as my arms can go and it still feels like there’s room for stretching. No matter how much the pantyhose are stretched, they return to their original size once removed.

The panty is a boy short made of lace. It’s not rough feeling, though it’s not particularly soft either. It has a seam running down the middle of the front and up the middle of the back. There is no liner at the crotch. I’ve tried similar pantyhose where the seam through the crotch caused an awful camel toe. This pair is actually done very well and does not cause a camel toe. There is no elastic at the waistband. The whole thing is pretty stretchy. These don’t have a tag in them which makes it hard to determine which side is the front and which is the back. I hold them up and look at the leg openings. The side that has less fabric around the leg openings is the front.

At the opening of each leg is a diamond net stocking. Each strand on the netting looks really fat and chunky like yarn, but as it stretches out the strands will become thinner and less chunky looking. Diamond net is much larger than fishnet. Each stocking ends with a simple toe seam. These do not have a reinforced toe, which sucks. I don’t like the feeling of my toes poking through the netting.

The netting feels very sturdy. Smaller netting can be easy to tear. When I was putting these on, my cat was watching and decided to claw at a section of netting. Her claws didn’t do any damage to the netting. When she does this with regular sheer pantyhose or fishnets, her claws do some damage.

To put these on, I suggest first balling up your hand into a fist and pushing it through one of the leg holes in the boy short. Once you get it through there, keep pushing until you reach the toe. Bunch the stocking material up around your wrist. Once you’ve reached the toe, pull the bunch towards the leg opening, remove your hand, and put a foot through. Just shoving your foot through the leg openings and into the stockings can cause the whole process of putting them on to take much longer since your toes will snag on the netting constantly.

Boy short waistband (unstretched/stretched): 24/42 inches
Hip: 26/42 inches
Rise: 8 inches
Leg openings (unstretched/stretched): 12/28 inches
Stocking length (unstretched/stretched): From 31 inches to more than 60 inches

These fit pretty well on me. I have long legs, big feet, muscular calves, and large thighs. These are able to stretch to cover my legs without feeling tight. I wear size 5 (small) in panties. I can feel lots of extra room in both the panty and stockings. I think DreamGirl’s weight suggestion for these is pretty good. I would have liked to see a height suggestion as well. I think women between 5 feet and 5 feet 10 inches tall would definitely fit well in these.

When I put these on the first time, the first thing that hit me was how incredibly uncomfortable the diamond netting was against my skin. It’s very itchy. It’s definitely worse than when you’re outside in the summer and almost get eaten alive by mosquitoes.

I noticed that the boy short top of these fit very nicely. They sat comfortably at my hips without causing a muffin top or anything. While I didn’t notice them being particularly “cheeky” they fit how boy shorts normally fit on me.

After I got the diamond net adjusted so that it was evenly stretched over my legs, I noticed something that made me hate myself and these pantyhose. Regardless of the amount of squats, kickboxing, and biking I do, my inner thighs are very un-toned. They’re downright flabby. In the diamond net of these pantyhose, they looked like big ol’ hams. That’s definitely not sexy.

I ended up having to take the pantyhose off after a couple of minutes. The look of them on my thighs and the feel of the itchy netting just made me want out.

To care for these, I’d follow the instructions on the packaging. I also suggest soaking these in the sink with some fabric softener in the water, too. This should help soften up the rough netting. I personally store these in their original packaging just so they are easier for me to identify in a big pile of stockings and pantyhose.

I’m kind of on the fence about these. On one hand, the boy short fits well and looks great. On the other, the diamond net is itchy and unflattering to un-toned legs. If DreamGirl offered fishnet pantyhose with this boy short on the top, I’d definitely buy those. I love fishnet, especially since it works well to slim legs. As they are, I don’t feel I want to try diamond net again. I think $16.99 is a pretty high price tag for what you’re getting here.

I give these diamond net pantyhose 3 out of 5 stars.
